It’s almost the dog days of summer,
and it’s
too hot
to do anything in the garden
except for taking photos.
So,here ya go……
Let’s macro away,shall we….?
Late afternoon sun through the Caladiums….
Angel’s Tears against a Caladium….
First berry on the Simpson Stopper...
Bud on the Banana Shrub? I thought they only flowered in the Spring…? Hmmmm….according to the ‘net,it does bloom through out the summer….
Doesn’t it look like fireworks?
How do you pass the time in the summer garden?

OOOooooo lots of great shots here, but I really love the epidendrum, the way they appear to be floating in air. How do I pass the summer in the garden? Watching it from the pool!

Your croton definitely does look like fireworks...great description. I'll have to check my banana shrub for buds...how exciting. I noticed last week that the berries on my stoppers were turning red, too. I thought it was a bit early...the birds will be excited. Great close-ups.
That croton is fantastic. Your orchids are beautiful.
It is definitely too hot and humid to do much out in the gardens these days. Even early in the mornings it is miserable out. When I'm out I try to wear my straw hat and drink plenty of water, and also take breaks.
You have a lot of loveliness there surrounding you in spite of the heat.

Oh yeah, HOT is the word. Love your fireworks croton as well as all the other great looks you have going on in your summer garden. Banana shrub blooms are exciting. Sphinx moth cat not so much.
