When I got home from work, this afternoon,I took my customary stroll around the yard.Just checking things out....And I had company......
I think the moth ball trick is working! Nothing or no one has dug anything up since I put a few down.I was reluctant to put too many out because of the smell. But so far nothing has been disturbed.I don't put them down around anything edible, but, over the weekend, something jumped in one of the containers with the squash seedlings and had a grand ole time. So,yesterday,I replanted everything in the container,re seeded,,and put a moth ball on the ground beside the container. It seems to have worked!Time will tell......or was I just lucky?
It is the height of oak tree pollen season, here in this part of Florida. It plays havoc with everything.Especially pool decks and swimming pools. And when you have a husband who is allergic, life can be ______(go ahead-you fill in the blank).
The specks you see in this picture are not me being a bad photographer, but oak pollen falling. You may have to click on the picture to get a better idea. And,yes, somebody needs to refill the bird feeder.

ACK! The Oak pollen is miserable, isn't it?! With 17 mature ones on our property, I'm not sure which I dread more: the pollen all over everything, or the fallen leaves that are now covering the place!!
Hope your enjoy the week ahead; it seems spring has sprung!
I love all of this. The birds are gorgeous. I can feel the sunshine!
Oak pollen, we have lots of oak but have never noticed the pollen. Sure some stuff does come down but that is part of being in nature. Ever see Loblolly Pine pollen, here you can see clouds of it for about two days, turns everything green.
The wall is looking great. I'm glad it is working for you. Oh, I love shady deals! :) I once had some carpet laid. For a case of beer the guys did the stairs as long as I promised not to tell the owner. Another time we had the underneath of the house spray-foamed. It was about $1100....$1000 cheaper than anyone else...but they drank on the job. That's okay. I just drank beer with them! :) The dirt will be great. You sure do have a wide variety of birds around your home.
Mo-the oak leaves are bad enough, but at least they can be used as mulch. The pollen just makes a mess of EVERYTHING!
Sandy-the sun is great, but we do need rain desparately.
Randy-after the oak trees are done, the cypress will start. It's never-ending....
Gayle-I did find the guy who fixed our roof for $450.00,total.I'm still proud of that one.
Love your hawk! :)

I have that oak pollen all over everything around here too in my front and backyard! These pictures are great, especially the cardinal and hawk.
I love seeing your project coming thru so nicely. It's always a good feeling to finish a task. I just love your bird pictures.
Have a nice weekend!
