She Shops.She Scores!

When you have eight feet by forty eight feet of garden to replant, you look for bargains anywhere, and everywhere.

So,on a recent trip to Lowe’s,I swung my cart by the half-priced/dead and dying rack.

Be still my heart….

the bargains were there to be had!

Mine!!!!!

After finding two bags of melaluca mulch for half price(the bags were ripped),I found these deals….

IMG_1351Purple Fountain Grass – $2

IMG_1344Variegated Ginger – $2 (3 plants in that pot)IMG_1349Bromeliad – $2 (4 pups in that pot!)

IMG_1346

A half dead orchid for $4.If it doesn’t make it,at least,I have a new clay pot.But the roots look healthy.Nothing that some fresh orchid mix,a dose of benign neglect, and a new home under the oak trees can’t correct.

I Red heart the half-price rack at Lowe’s!

I've been reading your blog for awhile now and I love it! I also make a beeline for the clearance rack at Lowes. Found some great plants there!

The Clearance Rack @ Lowe's is one of my favorite places too. How lucky to find mulch on clearance! You have a good eye for what might look bad but is only taking a little rest. A good part of my garden was built the same way.

Oh my gosh ~ you did GREAT. I wish Lowe's was closer to us, but it's out west of town, about 30 minutes away. I don't have extra money to spend right now on plants anyway, but hearing about Lowe's mark down rack always gets my gardening juices going. :-) You are going to have fun dividing and planting and I hope that orchid will survive too, as the roots do look healthy.

Happy Gardening ~ FlowerLady

Great finds all around. But, those bromeliads are fantastic! Your new area will be populated before you know it.
