good intentions go out the window….
I had all good intentions of taking a cover off of one the raised beds,
and maybe planting a row or two of seeds…
Seriously,
I really,really meant to.
No…
really,I did.
Honest.
But,then I noticed this…
Dang-I never noticed how big that Staghorn had gotten,’til I tried to pick it up.
It fell?
It was hanging from the big oak by a heavy chain.
I really should do something about that….
cut it up?
Wait!!
they’re willing to pose…
gotta go get the camera!
Oooo—the Garlic Chives are blooming…
Look at this,will ya?
Those mums I stuck in the old palm trunk are getting ready to bloom…
…forgot about those…
and the Pine Cone Gingers are looking really good…
Oh!
and look at this Gerbera….
and the Blackberry Lilies are blooming…
Look at the Purple Fountain Grass,in the late afternoon sun!
That will make a nice photo..
…Oh what the heck…
I’ll do the seeds tomorrow…
It’s too hot,right now,anyways…
and, besides,I have other stuff to do….
See what happens,
when ADD strikes a gardener?
and it’s ok if the garden is less than perfect, right?

LOL, I've had a few of those distractions hit me and ruin good intentions. Poor staghorn fern...please don't cut it up. I see the giant beasts hanging around town and wonder when they're gonna fall. By the way, my blackberry lilies died this year. Started coming back in spring, then disappeared. ??? Don't know what I did wrong. Maybe it was too soggy in that spot. ???
You really cracked me up! Yes, I know all what you meant! I also often saw those giant staghorns in the neighbourhood. When admiring it so much, I know it will be too big for my garden. Hope you can find a way to hang it up again without cutting it up. I started my blackberry lilies from the seeds last winter, and they are growing but don't seem to be ready to bloom.
Chris, you're a hoot! I can totally relate to your post. The nice thing is that those seeds will wait and tomorrow's another day...you'll get it done.
So funny and so true! I can get sidetracked in a minute once I get outside. I am going to have to wait until at least the weekend after Labor Day to get my veggies going due to company visiting. I think we'll both be fine with a little later planting. That purple fountain grass really was worth the distraction:)
