It started as any other normal day has, lately.
Hot and sunny.
I was trying to figure out when would be the best time to water my poor wilted, suffering gardens. They were choking and coughing from a lack of real water.
When suddenly,there was a strange sound…
….Hmmmm….what’s that?
The sky turned funny looking. Not a sight I had seen in quite a while….
What is happening?
Are we under some kind of attack?
Should we duck and dive under our desks?
And that sound….What is that?
That stuff falling outta the sky…I don’t think I recall seeing that before.
Dummy, that sound you hear is thunder, and that stuff falling out of the sky is rain!
Ahhhhh…rain.
I think I remember that….
…Sweet,sweet rain….
One inch,in fact.
Nothing means loving in the garden like rain from Mother Nature….
Plumeria leaf….
Brandywine tomato
Canna drooping from the rain, not the heat..
Banana shrub….Michelia figo
Purple Coneflower
Rudbeckia
Banana….
Even the branches of the Norfolk Island Pines were dripping…
And a Fiddle Leaf Fig….
As if it wanted to save it,a Crape Honeysuckle was collecting water….
Even Buddha was happy with his shower….
The birds and ducks weren’t fazed at all by the rain….
Oh yeah----
hurricane season started today,too…….

Everything looks fresh and pretty in your photos, even the duckies. :)
And......I WANT that tomato! :)
Tootie-I have a windowsill full of those Brandywines. When should I bring them down?Make me the salad from The Grill?
I saw on the radar where above us was getting quite a bit of rain, and you were one of the blessed ones. We didn't see a drop.
Love your photos, especially the duck family.

Oh, I wanted some of those rain for my garden too! We had some rain last week, but did not last long, and not enough to water the plants in the garden. Your plants look so happy in the rain!!!
Well, let's hope you don't have to go through any hurricanes and just the gardens get a little watering. Everything is so beautiful and your photos are outstanding!
We got some of that rain too. The garden just doesn't respond as positively to sprinkler water. Nothing compares to the good a rainstorm will do. Happy to see your happy plants. (And birds.)
It was wonderful! All your plants look so refreshed.
Oh, yeah, that was some beautiful stuff yesterday! My garden was soooo thirsty. Love all your rain-soaked photos!
