It’s just waaay too hot,and humid,to do anything in the garden.
The last three days,I have gotten up early.
To try and beat the heat…
And the humidity…
And the rain…
Was it so long ago when we were bemoaning the lack of rain?
But by 10AM,sweat is running into places that are incredibly uncomfortable,
…not to mention…w-e-l-l,you get my drift….
….and I’m pooped….
Even the butterflies are kinda pooped…
The only shady spot in the yard.…
is wet and mosquito filled…
So far,I have managed to get a few beds weeded,
…the birdfeeders filled…
I have waaaay too many feeders…
.I think I have nine…
...not counting the three suet feeders..
Even Buddha looks like he’s sweating…
Today, was spent in and outta the pool,
…it is late July,
in Florida,
after all….
I’m not stupid…
and trying to take a few photos for documentation of where TheGreatWall is at this time of year…
Most of the Caladiums have been dug up and planted into containers,on the new screened lanai….
Miss Muffet
Gingerland
Tropical Sage seems to have adjusted well…
Here,with a back drop of Cat’s Whiskers.
The hummers love the Tropical Sage,by the way.
Should I be dead heading them?I haven’t been, but I wonder if they would bloom more prolifically if I dead headed them.
Thoughts?
Anyone…?
Bueller…?
I moved the sun loving Hosta’s,to a less sun loving spot.
In the right background,is Lemon Grass growing in a galvanized tub.also there is Giant Liriope and Cinnamon Fern.
Contrary to belief, they did not do well in full sun. Now,they are in a spot that gets full sun until about noon-1 o’clock. And they seem to like it much better in their new home…
The orchids love this weather…
As do the other shade loving plants that have been moved to the lanai…
Hey,Gramma….
What Emma?
You know how you can stay cool?
How?
Eat ice cream!!!!!
I love ice cream!
I see that,Emma…

I love looking at your beautiful flowers and Miss Emma has the biggest, bluest eyes I have ever seen. :)
I hear you and feel with you with the heat and humidity. I worked outside this morning, sweating buckets, then continued working in a gentle rain, until thunder happened and that was it for me.
You have some real beauties growing there.
Little Emma is such a sweetie pie, and eating ice cream sounds like a great idea in the middle of July.
Have a great week ~ FlowerLady
OMG...no way is Emma eating with a spoon. She was just teeny tiny the other day. She is the most beautiful child I have ever seen. No lie (and I gave birth to 5).
I bet the humidity would kick my ass, but I'd like to try it. I'd like to try gardening in Florida rain, too. Warm rain...what a concept.
Everything is beautiful as always, lady. You are an amazing gardener.
