Tomatoes(Purple Cherokee)growing amongst other plantings

Carrots(mixed amongst the carrots are Green and Red Bell Peppers,and Basil)

Toss in some Peppermint Nasturtiums….

(thrown together,with tomatoes,radishes,and green onions=great salad )

.…neglected to take a photo  of the radishes and green onions….

 

The first of the spring/summer green beans…

 

Japanese Eggplant,growing amongst tomatoes,Giant Liriope, and Blackberry Lily

 

You want a great ground cover?

Try Oregano….

 

A nice shrub?

Try Rosemary….

 

Wanna keep aphids away?

Try growing your own garlic….

Plant it around your roses.

Jjust make sure you buy it from an organic source,so it’s not chemically treated.I bought mine from Whole Foods.

 

A nice border plant?

Parsley works just great….

Due to new expansion of the HQ (the house),a portion of TheGreatWall has to be relocated…

A new raised bed was created…..

plantings include Wendy’s Wish Salvia,Giant Liriope,African Iris,and Italian Curled Parsley for a border.

Some green bean and Swiss Chard seeds were added for good measure,too.

Making use of the sunny space….

 

…but I had company….

this time,I made sure I had the new camera with me….

Spring cleaning……

In the last week,we have gone from Spring

to Winter

to Spring,

again.

And,today,was like a nice Summer day.

….but without the humidity and rain….

Nice,

sunny,

hot,

breezy.

 

Time to get out the clippers and machete

…..and whack away…..

Always looks much better with the dead stuff cleared out,doesn’t it?

 

Planted the Rouge Plant –Rivina humilis 

that I bought here…..

There’s a Blue Sage Plant,next to it.

I think they will get along famously.

Hopefully…?

A brom I bought here, 3-4 years ago….

….has finally decided to

bloom!!!!

only one pup,but I’ll take it.

Patience is a virtue,after all.

 

and the whole garden smells like this…..

amazing that such a small blossom can create such an overwhelming scent!

Even on the lanai…….

 

Excuse me,but I’m feeling the overwhelming need for a popsicle,right now……

…….yep,it got down to 32 degrees at TheGreatWall,but there seems to be no damage….

Indian Hawthorne (Rhaphiolepis indica)

did fine….

as did the Coral Honeysuckle(Lonicera sempervirens)

which is just now starting to bloom…..

Even though I didn’t cover it,and it was in bloom and bud,

Banana Shrub (Michelia figo) also sailed through…..

I followed Dad’s advice,and left the orchids on their own……

….some were protected on the lanai,and some were under other plantings…

and they did just fine…..

This is the time of year my orchids are putting on their show…..

                                      Soooo……

                                                           March better go out like this…..
